I have been on the hunt for the best faux fiddle leaf fig tree on the market, and am sharing an honest review of the one I decided to buy from World Market! Faux Fiddle Leaf Fig trees are very popular home decor items and I don’t blame people for buying them!
I love the look of Fiddle Leaf Trees, but I have been so hesitant to actually buy a real one! First of all, I am not the best at keeping plants alive (except for my golden pothos plant-that thing never dies!), and the location I really want a tree in is in my living room, which does not have a bright sunny window. But I have two little kids and another on the way, so I have decided to stalk the internet for images and sources for the best looking Faux Fiddle Leaf Fig Trees.
Before making any major purchase of anything, I always love reading reviews and staring at pictures to make sure it’s something I reeeaaallly want to buy. We all know that the stock photos companies post are sometimes misleading and online shopping can sometimes be stressful….no one likes having to return things!
So to help you out with your decision-making process, I am sharing a few faux fiddle leaf fig trees I considered buying and also sharing lots of pictures and close up shots of the one I ended up getting from World Market!

#1. Pottery Barn offers two different sizes of Faux Fiddle Leaf Trees and is one of the more expensive options I found online.
The small is 5 feet tall costing $199 and the medium size is 7 feet tall costing $299. These faux trees look so beautiful but the price tag was a bit high for what I wanted to spend.
You can see how beautiful it looks in the home of Mackenzie from Design Darling. They really do look realistic to me but I continued my search to see if I could find something a little cheaper.
I have heard so many different bloggers rave about this QVC Faux Fiddle Leaf Tree and have seen it in a few different homes online! And it honestly looks really good in my opinion. The price is also easier on the wallet, costing $58.50 + $5.50 for shipping and handling. This item comes and goes so you gotta snag it when you see it available!
Bloggers ChrislovesJulia bought theirs from QVC and had it in their old home. They really liked it and put blankets in the basket to cover the base. The main reason I was hesitant about buying this one was due to the inconsistent reviews. Plus it is 5 ft tall and I was wanting something at least 6 ft tall for my living room. I may consider buying this one in the future just to see what all the fuss is about because you honestly cannot beat that price!
#3. And the winner was…..surprise, surprise! The World Market 6′ Faux Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree.
Price. The price wasn’t too outrageous after using their Free Shipping Code and 20% off discount. The regular price is $179 but after the discounts, I got it for $149. World Market is always giving out discount codes and doing sales, so definitely keep a lookout for them to get the best price! Also, if you sign up to be on their Reward Members Program, you get access to special coupon codes (free to sign up).
Reviews. The reviews were pretty solid. On their site, this tree has 224 reviews at a 4.7-star rating. I also have seen other bloggers rave about this tree and appeared to be a great quality option.
Size & Style. I liked that it was 6 ft. tall because my ceilings are high and also that the leaves were higher up. Many 6 ft. Fiddle Leaf Trees were over $200 at least. I also have toddlers and didn’t want my kids pulling at the leaves. So would I recommend this tree? My short answer is YES. The tree arrived quickly and well packaged with no damage. I really liked the overall look and quality of this faux fiddle tree. It has a nice thin trunk with realistic curves and notches.
This is the tree straight out of the packaging and placed inside a World Market basket. You will have to fluff the tree out a bit and flex the branches down to shape it to the overall look that you like. Adjusting the branches was very easy to do and not an issue at all. Here is the image of the tree after I shaped and moved the branches a bit to get a more fuller look. Below is a more detailed look at the top of the tree. The trunk extends out into four different main branches and looks and feels very sturdy. The leaves are also really nice! I like how realistic they look. The underside of the leaves is a bit lighter than the top and the top has a matte look with a bit of a sheen. The trunk has a little curve and realistic looking texture and notches in them. I like how the trunk isn’t super straight, which would look fake to me. I also like the color, which is a nice gray-brown tone. The base of the tree is in a small pot and is weighted. You will definitely need a cute basket to put it in, which you can get almost anywhere! Check out places like HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, World Market or Target.

After the brown spots arrived, the leaves began to slowly fall. I panicked, which didn't help the situation. I watered less, then watered more. I moved the plant from one spot to the next. I pruned (with kitchen scissors, but still). And at rock bottom, I ripped off the few remaining leaves while releasing a warrior cry.

I began to skim the comments section every time I spotted a fiddle leaf fig tree, and guess what? So many people were admitting to the faux tree route and sharing sources!
I like that you can bend the branches and leaves to achieve your desired shape. I love that I can place it in a stylish pot without worrying about drainage holes. Never mind drainage holes, I'm happy that I never have to water it. While you can certainly tell it's a fake if you're inspecting it up close, I've realized that people who come to my home aren't examining my plants with that level of scrutiny anyway. And even if they did, who cares? It makes the space feel lively and fresh, and with real plants sprinkled around the room, it blends right in.
Anyone who's ever taken care of a fiddle leaf fig tree knows they're not for beginners. They can be temperamental and react dramatically (shedding leaves, turning brown) when given too little water, sun, or attention. When done right, though, they are picturesque house plants, adding a tropical touch to your front entrance or dining room. The real plants can be a bit finicky, so I’m sharing real life reviews of the best faux fiddle leaf fig trees and stems. It’s no secret that I love fiddle leaf fig trees and this post has been years in the making!
Some may argue this is a “trend” on it’s way out, but my thought is, if you love the look of something, does it really matter? Over the years, I’ve actually had several real fiddle leaf fig trees. They are absolutely beautiful, but also the most finicky plant I’ve ever dealt with!
I had a real one that thrived for years until there was a “mishap” with one of our cats while we were out of town on an extended vacation. I currently have three faux fiddle leaf fig trees and countless faux fiddle leaf fig stems to use in pots. I’ve also seen tons of options in person - some good, and some really bad!
The BEST Faux Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree on Amazon?
If you’re looking for a full-size option, this nearly 7′ faux fiddle leaf fig tree is by far my favorite! The key to really making it look life-like is all in how you style the leaves (I’ll share more on that in the next section, along with photos of how it looked when it arrived).
I previously had the 5.4′ faux fiddle leaf fig tree (size small) that coordinates with the option above in our office. Here you can see how I styled it in our guest bedroom more recently. And if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, I also tried this 5′ QVC faux fiddle leaf fig tree for less than $60 to test an alternative! The leaves are darker that the others shown above. However I actually like the crinkle effect on the leaves, as it closely mimics what you’d find on a real leaf. The base isn’t quite as stable, but if you add it to a basket (which I recommend regardless), you shouldn’t have any issues.
You’ll likely laugh when the box arrives thinking there is no possible way a tree could fit in it, but after a few minutes of working on it, it looked significantly better! Is it perfect? No. But it’s an excellent option for those on a budget!

Following are my top picks for even more artificial fiddle leaf fig trees and stems. If you love the fiddle leaf fig tree look but don’t want to invest in a tree, I love these faux fiddle leaf fig stems. They’re almost identical to the leaves on the Pottery Barn trees.
I know sometimes you get lucky and stumble upon options while out and about shopping. However, it may be hard to know if your lucky find is a good option or not without something to compare it to. Read the reviews online!
Regardless of which tree you purchase, there are simple steps you can take to make yours look as real as possible. On a weekly basis, I receive requests from readers for tips on how to style the artificial fiddle leaf fig leaves so that they look real. The first year I had our larger 6.9′ fig tree, I was terrified to do too much with it after having a leaf fall off when I first messed with it. But now I’m really happy with how it looks!

Following are steps you can take to make your faux fiddle leaf fig look as real as possible. Please note I’ve also filmed a tutorial on shaping the leaves in my Instagram Stories. Study images online of real fiddle leaf fig trees. The leaves have a very distinct bend to them and you should carefully bend yours in a similar manner. Remember that the real trees grow towards the light!
Pinch the base of each leaf to the trunk before you bend your leaves. This will help ensure you don’t snap the leaf off the tree! Place the trees near a window, much as you would a real tree. I find that the varying colors show up best this way!
Add your tree to a basket or planter. I love the look of woven, natural options, but pick one that works well with your own decor style! Much as you would a real fiddle leaf fig tree, be sure to keep the leaves dust free! I feel like most faux fiddle leaf fig trees will instantly look better if you “pot” them much like you would a real tree!
In fact, many of the tree options come with a base that is laughably small, so sometimes, this option isn’t really an option. Following are some of my favorite basket options to use to “plant” your faux fiddle leaf fig tree!
Once potted, I don’t add anything additional to the basket or pot (mostly because the cats will mess with). But, I have a friend that added moss to the top of hers and it looked really pretty!
